Theresa May says Labour peer is ‘an inspiration to us all’ as she hugs brain cancer sufferer Tessa Jowell

Theresa May shared a heartfelt hug with Labour peer Tessa Jowell who is suffering from brain cancer as they discussed plans to boost research into the disease. Following the meeting Theresa May tweeted photographs of the pair and said: “It was lovely to spend time with Tessa Jowell and her family, talking with Jeremy Hunt about working with Cancer Research UK to provide a £45 million boost to brain tumour research to tackle a disease where survival remains woefully low.”
